Dear Friends & Family

As we approach the end of another incredible year, I find myself reflecting on the journey we’ve taken together. It’s been a year of growth, challenges, and countless moments that have shaped us individually and as a collective. This year has taught me the importance of resilience and adaptability – to keep carrying on until we reach our end!

First and foremost, I want to express my deepest gratitude to each and every one of you who have supported our group, from donators of raffle prizes, donation in kind, supporters of our events to our volunteers who have shown dedication, hard work and unwavering support this year. Not forgetting our dedicated walkers who walk, talk and connect with each other week in, week out.

I want to give a shout out to our amazing Exclusive Membership Group – a group of women who sow into JustBe’s vision year after year – without any conditions or expectations, desiring nothing in exchange. Neither do I wish to forget the handful of supporters who contribute regularly to the group’s financial well-being by providing financial support each month – we appreciate you.

BUT … as this season is upon us, and amidst the hustle and bustle, it is crucial to pause and reflect on the joy that Christmas brings.  In my household it’s not the tree, the lights or the decorations (which we don’t have), it’s the warmth and love of our traditions, and special moments that make the season so magical: ackee & salt fish early in the morning, going to church, the smell of home cooking –  rice & peas and whatever meats that will be gracing our table, the games played, the laughter shared – it’s just so nice to take some time to set aside the burdens of the year.

In the quiet moments of reflection during this holiday season, our hearts will be heavy with the absence of those we have lost.  This particular year is going to be difficult for my family and I know many of you have lost loved ones too. Let’s hold dear to those who have passed away and will be missed during Christmas, may their memories continue to linger, and the impact they made on our lives.

As we bid farewell to 2023, let’s take a moment to celebrate our accomplishments, no matter how big or small. Every effort contributed to our shared success, and I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved together.  Looking ahead, I am excited about the possibilities that the new year holds for us.  JustBe will be 15 years on on Saturday 23rd March so make sure that date is in your diary!

And one last thing ….just remember, it’s not about the gifts or the tree; it’s about honouring the spirit of Christmas with a focus on Jesus.

Wishing you all a joyous holiday season filled with moments of rest, rejuvenation, and quality time with loved ones. May the coming year bring prosperity, fulfilment, and new adventures for each one of you.

Warm regards,
